Well for example if you have just 1 or and odd (1,3,5 etc.) amount of negitive numbers in the equation then you divide it normaly and then put a negitive sign in front of your answer. But if you have an even number of negitives, like 2, then you divide normaly and DO NOT add the negitive sign to your answer. (you can remember it if you think odd negitives=negitive and even negitives= positive)

ex. -9÷3 there is an odd number of negitives so you know the answer will be negitive so put a negitive sign to not forget. = -? then you forget about the signs and solve the equation. =3 then put it together and you get = -3

same for even amount of negitive numbers but you dont place the negitive sign and completly forget about negitives. good luck

Is y= - 4x + 1 proportional
maw [93]

Answer:

Proportional quantities can be described by the equation y = kx, where k is a constant ratio. You can tell that the relationship is directly proportional by looking at the graph. So yes it does equal a proportional relationship.

Hope this helps :)

Instructions: Find the missing side lengths. Leave your answers as radicals in simplest form.
ivanzaharov [21]

Answer:

x = 6

y = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Give triangle is a right triangle.

By applying sine ratio in the given triangle,

sin(60)° = \frac{\text{Opposite side}}{\text{Hypotenuse}}

\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}=\frac{3\sqrt{3}}{x}

x = 6

Now we take the cosine ratio in the given triangle,

cos(60)° = \frac{\text{Adjacent side}}{\text{Hypotenuse}}

\frac{1}{2}=\frac{y}{x}

y = \frac{x}{2}

y = \frac{6}{2}=3

Therefore, x = 6 and y = 3 will be the answer.

Now that you have x² - 8x 16 = 9 16, apply the square root property to the equation.
vitfil [10]

The square root property to the equation will be (x – 4)² = 25. And the solutions will be the negative 1 and 9.

<h3>What is a quadratic equation?</h3>

The quadratic equation is given as ax² + bx + c = 0. Then the degree of the equation will be 2. Then we have

The equation is given below.

x² – 8x + 16 = 9 + 16

Then the equation can be written as

(x – 4)² = 25

x – 4 = ±5

x = 4 ± 5

x = -1, 9

More about the quadratic equation link is given below.
