What is the difference between "Saber" and "Conocer" in Spanish?

Conocer means to meet, know, learn, or discover. Saber means to know, learn, and hear. So basically saber mean to learn and conocer means to discover.

Saber is used when you are talking about facts or skills you have learned.

Conocer is used when you want to express familiarity or acquaintance with a person place or a thing.

They are both verbs, but it really depends on what's going on in the context it is being used in.
