I would most definitely say poor children then again the illness that people have to deal with is heart breaking but I'm 80% sure it is poor children hope this helps.
They were affected because as the climate changed, so did the environment and so animals moved to the warmer spots of the world and this helped the practice of hunting. Since the climate changed, new crops were allowed to grow and people started to worship gods.
