Five days after this siege got over, the British navy arrived to rescue the British army. <u>Admiral Thomas Graves who was in charge of this fleet was informed about the surrender of General Charles Cornwallis and many soldiers from the British troop confirmed this fact to Admiral Thomas</u>. The Washington moved its army to New York and they remained in New York till the time the Treaty of Paris was signed, which eventually ended the war formally in the year 1783. <u>America’s victory at Yorktown among the most significant battles of the American Revolution because It made the British realize they were fighting a lost cause and soon after, they conceded the war.</u>
