Actually, it's "there is".

True, there are multiple objects, but since there is only one apple, and the apple is spoken of directly after the choice, it's "there is".

Actually, the answer is “there are.” The fact that a singular object comes first doesn’t matter. We’re speaking about multiple objects in the same sentence.
