Suppose the manager of a gas station monitors how many bags of ice he sells daily along with recording the highest temperature e

ach day during the summer. The data are plotted with temperature, in degrees Fahrenheit (°F), as the explanatory variable and the number of ice bags sold that day as the response variable. The least squares regression (LSR) line for the data is Y^ = −114.05+2.17X. On one of the observed days, the temperature was 82 °F and 66 bags of ice were sold. Determine the number of bags of ice predicted to be sold by the LSR line, Y^, when the temperature is 82 °F. Enter your answer as a whole number, rounding if necessary. Y^ = 34 ice bags Using the predicted value you just found, compute the residual at this temperature. residual =

Our model is

\hat{y} = 2.17 x + -114.05

When x=82 degrees F,

\hat{y} = 2.17 (82) + -114.05 = 63.89

We round up to

Answer: 64 bags

Not sure why it says y^=34 in the question; I'm ignoring that.

The residual is the difference between the actual y and the predicted y,

e = y - \hat{y} = 66 - 64 = 2

Answer: 2

shania wants to measure the capacity of her bathroom sink. Circle the unit of measurement she should use to measure its capacity
qaws [65]
Pounds because I don't think that a sink weighs a ton and ounces would be far to complex. Plus, you are measuring the capacity of a sink... Sorry if the answer sucks! I'm new at this and not all that smart...

What is 0.000012 pounds in word form
erastovalidia [21]
The answer is twelve millionth

In a scientific notation, you have to put a decimal right after the first number (unless it is a zero). How many times you move the decimal from its original spot determines the answer. (FYI: In a number like 196 the decimal point is 196.000<--here)

1.46000000 (moved the decimal point 8 times, so the answer is --->)

What is the product of the polynomial (7x+7) (x+2)
kolbaska11 [484]

Answer: 7x^2+21x+14

Step-by-step explanation:

(7x+7)(x+2)

Multiply each term in the first parentheses by each term in the second parentheses (FOIL)

7x×x+7x×2+7x+7×2

↘ ↙

7x×x calculate product

7x^2+7x×2+7x+7×2

↘ ↙

7x×2 calculate product

7x^2+14x+7x+7×2

↘↙

7×2 multiply numbers

7x^2+14x+7x+14

↘ ↙

21x collect like terms

7x^2+21x+14 is your end result.
