Would this be y = x^2 - 3 since the curve is pointing down instead of up?

Since the parabola is opening upwards it has to be positive. The equation you said it might be is wrong b/c then the parabola would open downwards. the answer is y=x^2+3. And you can use this website for graphing it will help. it helps me.
