According to Copernicus's theory, the Earth was not the center of the Universe and all the planets revolved around the Sun. Despite Copernicus's theory was completely different than the one of his time it took more than 70 years to be a point of interest, when it was supported by Galileo and banned by the Catholic Church.

On the other hand, Tycho Brahe thought the Earth was the center of the Universe, and the Sun revolved around it while the other planets were revolving around the Sun. This point of view was accepted by the Church because it supported the idea that the Earth was the center of the Universe and could adapt to the Catholic tradition.

Thus, the right answer is option 3) Traditional views still held tremendous power at the onset of the scientific revolution.  Because Copernicus idea was not accepted by the authorities, while Brahe's one was regarded as true due the similarity it had with the traditional views.
