On which number line do the points represent -5 1/2 and +3?

Mathematics
1 answer:
Gala2k [10]3 years ago
3 0

If I'm not mistaken, its 3 points, -5, \frac{1}{2}, and 3. PLease put commas next time :|

So imagine this is a number line...

O----------------------------------------------------------------O

^                  ^                  ^  ^        ^                      ^

-10               -5                 0 \frac{1}{2}         3                    10

\frac{1}{2} is half of 1, so that should be the correct way on plotting the 3 points.

Hope this helped!

What is the solution to the equation below? Round your answer to two
ipn [44]

Answer:

The correct answer is x = 7.05

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Let's review the information given for answering the question:

7. 9x = 55.68

2. For solving the equation, we should proceed this way:

x = 55.68/7.9

x = 7.0481

x = 7.05 (Rounding to two decimal places)

3. Let's prove if the value of x is correct

7.9 * 7.05 = 55.68

55.69 = 55.68

The value is correct because we rounded the value of x

Susan claims. "If a family has already got four boys, then the next baby is more likely to be a girl than a boy."
Zinaida [17]

Answer:

Assuming that for every baby the probability of being a girl or a boy is the same (50% for each of them)

We could then think in this situation as a coin flip.

Suppose that you flip a coin 4 times, and the four times you get heads.

Does this imply that in the 5th flip the probability of getting tails increments?

Well, not, each flip is an individual event, and it's outcome does not depend on the outcome of the previous flips.

The same is for the new baby, the gender does not depend on the gender of the previous babies, is an independent event, then Susan's statement is false.
