Water's high heat of vaporization allows it to cool us off when we sweat. True False

False.

You’re body uses sweat to cool off in high temperatures. I don’t think vaporization has anything to go with it. Also, the water wouldn’t be hot since you’re cooling off by using it.

The cell membrane of a red blood cell will allow water, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and glucose to pass through. Since other substan
Mrrafil [7]

Answer:

The correct answer would be B. semi-permeable.

Plasma membrane of any cell including red blood cell is semi-permeable in nature as it is made up of lipid bilayer.

It permits the passage of certain substances across the membrane while it blocks other substances.

Gases, small uncharged or non-polar substances such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, et cetera can easily pass through the cell membrane of a cell.

Large or charged molecules such as proteins, sodium ions, potassium ions et cetera can not pass through the cell membrane. They require carrier proteins to pass through the membrane.

Discuss what is meant by heterozygote advantage and use sickle-cell anemia as an example
vodomira [7]
When a single copy of a disease allele doesn't result in a disease but instead is good for the person or organism that carries it, we say that allele has a heterozygote advantage. In other words this occurs when heterozyhotes have increased fitness over both homozygotes.  A good example is sickcle cell trait, which protects against malaria in heterozygotes, but causes a deadly disease in homozygotes.

What is the importance of the protein used in Method B during cellular transport?
ss7ja [257]
By moving substances across membranes, transport proteins make everything from nerve impulses to cellular metabolism possible. Without transport proteins, for example, the sodium-potassium gradient that allows our nerves to fire would not exist.
