Compare the way the epic commemorates beowulf
Salsk061 [2.6K]
Beowulf wanted to fight Grendel by himself. He told the feared people that he didn't need his solders nor his sword to fight Grendel. Later on in The Battle Of Grendel Beowulf kept his work and he fought Grendel and won.

So basically Beowulf was an epic hero because he fought for the scared people of the town.
