35 ≤ 12.99 + 1.75x

subtract the admission to see how much you have left over for rides

22.01 ≤ 1.75x

divide

12.58 ≤ x

you can not ride .58 of a ride so the maximum number of rides you can enjoy is 12

The sum of Eli’s age and Cecil’s age is 60. Six years ago, Eli was three times old as Cecil. Find Eli’s age now
Nesterboy [21]

Answer:

Eli's age = 42 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be Eli's age and y be Cecil's age

So,

According to the statement given

x+y=60     eqn 1

Eli's age 6 years ago = x-6

Cecil's age 6 years ago = y-6

So according to the given statement

x-6 = 3(y-6)

x-6 = 3y - 18

x-3y = -18+6

x-3y= -12      eqn 2

Subtracting eqn 2 from eqn 1

x+y - (x-3y) = 60 - (-12)

x+y-x+3y = 60+12

4y = 72

y = 18

Cecil's age = 18 years

Putting y = 18 in eqn 1

x+18=60

x = 60-18

x = 42

Eli's age = 42 years ..

What is an equation of the line that passes through (2,2) and is parellel to the line y=7x
laila [671]

Answer:

Therefore, equation of the line that passes through (2,2) and is parellel to the line y=7x is y=7x-12

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

a line y=7x

To Find:

Equation of line passing through ( 2, 2) and is parellel to the line y=7x

Solution:

y=7x     ...........Given

Comparing with,

y=mx

Where m =slope

We get

Slope = m = 7

We know that parallel lines have Equal slopes.

Therefore the slope of the required line passing through (2 , 2) will also have the slope = m = 7.

Now the equation of line in slope point form given by

(y-y_{1})=m(x-x_{1})

Substituting the points and so we will get the required equation of the line,

(y-2)=7(x-2)=7x-14\\\\y=7x-12......Equation\ of\ line

Therefore, equation of the line that passes through (2,2) and is parellel to the line y=7x is y=7x-12
