Hopefully I am factoring...

1st take the 2 out of the expression
2(n^2+7n-8)

Look at the 2nd sign, since it is negative the signs in the factors will be +/-.  Now we need the numbers that multilpy to 8 and have a difference of 7, which will be 8 and 1.
2(n+8)(n-1) - factored form

In a college of exactly 2720 students, exactly 65 % are male. what is the number of female students?
qaws [65]
Multiply 2720 by 65% or 65/100
176800/100 = 1768 This is how many males there are. Now subtract 1768 from 2720 you will get how many females there are
2720-1768 = 952 females

The square below has an area of x^2+10x+25 square meters. What expression represents the length of one side of the square?
Andre45 [30]

(x+5) represents each side of a square. Since all sides of a square are equal, we know that all sides are (x+5).

Base x height = (x+5)(x+5)
