Answer:

-Her disguise made her appear older than Telemachus.

Explanation:

Homer's "The Odyssey" tells the story of how Odysseus returned back to his kingdom Ithaca after almost two decades of being away. The whole journey way back home also involves numerous encounters with gods, goddesses and even other demi-gods, good and bad, all playing an important role in his development as the person he was when he reached home.

In Book III, Telemachus, Odysseus' son, had went on a journey to try to find his father along with several men and Minerva/ Athena in disguise. When they had reached the place of Nestor at Pylos, they were invited to join in their feast. At this, Thrasymedes gave the wine cup to Athena in disguise as Mentor, telling her that <em>"he is younger than you are, and is much of an age with myself, so I will give you the precedence"</em>.

Thus, Minerva/ Athena was given the wine cup first because of her old age appearance as compared to the others.

Why is corruption common in some African countries, such as Zimbabwe?
ella [17]
<span><span>A.      </span>Because the president rules the country like a dictator</span>

In African countries like Zimbabwe where corruption exists, the power has been converted to tyranny. Information deficit is fairly common. People do not have freedom of expression. Mass media like newspapers, television and radios cannot exercise this freedom thus not being able to function as the watchdog of the public. Investigative journalism almost does not exist. The government is also the largest employer in these countries. They seize the opportunities to buy state properties at low prices. When the economy grows, it opens more chances for the government to get kickbacks such as in building projects that are poorly supervised.

MACBETH. … all our yesterdays have lighted fools
denis-greek [22]

Answer:

Macbeth is realizing that all of his striving for power has been for nothing.

Explanation:

William Shakespeare's "Macbeth" revolves around the story of a general who commits horrendous crimes to get the throne of Scotland. The play or story deals with themes of greed, loyalty, evil against good, guilt, supernatural, and ambition, among others.

In the given quote from Macbeth from Act V scene v, we see Macbeth reacting to the news of his wife's death. He declares that <em>"life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more."</em> This is similar to the "The Seven Ages of Man" from Shakespeare's "As You Like It". Macbeth seems to realize the futility of all things, be it the ambitious desire to be in power or be mighty.

Thus, the correct answer is the second option.
