A musical instrument that falls under the category of percussion instruments. It consists of either wooden or metal planks varying in length and thickness. The different planks emit different notes when hit with a drumstick or something of the sorts.

If falls unde rthe category of percussion instrument, a very unique band of spectrum indeed.
