A musical instrument that falls under the category of percussion instruments. It consists of either wooden or metal planks varying in length and thickness. The different planks emit different notes when hit with a drumstick or something of the sorts.

Athe xylophone is a musical instrument consisting of a graduated series of wooden bars, usually sounded by striking with small wooden hammers. If falls unde rthe category of percussion instrument, a very unique band of spectrum indeed. These bars vary in length and thickness to produce different tones of musicwhen struck by a drumstick or any other type of tool.
