The correct answers are the following.

Major points: vanity and materialism are faults of character, loss of the necklace, and how necklace was paid for.

Minor points: comments on plot, comments on characters.

The story of “The Necklace” refers to the importance of vanity and showing an image that does not correspond to reality. In the story, Madame Loisel believes that necklace is a symbol of power and social status. When she loses the necklace she is in debt and tries everything to pay for it. Appearances is the word of the story. Madame Loisel wants to show an image that he can afford in reality. She ended up ruining her life in order to pay the collar to Madame Forestier. So the major points and minor points to write a critique of the story would be. Major points: vanity and materialism are faults of character, loss of the necklace, and how necklace was paid for. Minor points: comments on plot, comments on characters.

Which rhetorical element is included in this passage from President Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address?
Natasha_Volkova [10]

Answer:

A. ethos

Explanation:

Ethos is the rhetorical element in which the persuasion of the audience falls as the major destination. The writer or the speaker attempts to persuade and audience through his piece of writing or speech respectively.

President Lincoln in his Second Inaugural Address questioned the divinity thought and highlighted the ills that the war has brought to the people. He expresses his dilemmatic thoughts as to what had made the divine, the God, to make his people involve in the war. He had used certain allusions from the holy Bible to persuade the audience. The causes that led to the war, it's outcome and it's end have been brought into light by Lincoln.

How does the author's use of the word "cloak" in
julsineya [31]

Hello. You did not inform the poem to which this question refers, which makes it impossible for it to be answered. However, when searching for your question on the internet, I managed to find another question exactly the same as yours, which presented the attached poem. If this is your case, I hope the answer below can help you.

Answer:

It creates a sense of protective devotion.

Explanation:

With the reading of the poem, we can see that the speaker is returning to his beloved, whom he wants to love and protect, the word "cloak" used at the end of the poem reinforces this idea of protective devotion, since the speaker states that "will cover "the beloved with his love, leaving her protected from all and any evil, since for him, the beloved is someone far above the normal elements of reality, being an idealized and flawless person.
