Answer:

Both historical facts are important for the history of the United States although it is evident that they have a very different nature: while what happened in Pearl Harbor refers to the defense of the national sovereignty of the United States, the Declaration of Sentiments is a symbol of the struggle of women and is considered as the founding text of feminism as a social movement .

Explanation:

Pearl Harbor (December 7, 1941): The Japanese Navy conducted an unexpected military offensive against a US military base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. This attack caused irreparable damage to armored American warships and warplanes. More than 2400 people died and statistics indicate that there were more than 1000 people seriously injured. This attack results in the entry of the United States into World War II.

The Declaration of Sentiments is the result of a meeting that took place on July 19 and 20, 1848, pointing out the requirements to achieve civil citizenship for women and showing moral principles and customs that undermined the dignity and rights of women. At that time women could not vote or stand for elections. They couldn’t hold public office, join political organizations, organize or attend political meetings. It was forbidden for them to have property titles. They could not open bank accounts, or be merchants, or have their own businesses.
