Answer:

Considering these as two questions with the same purpose of answering if they are true, or false, these would be the answers and explanations:

1. Steorid hormones are stored and then released in large quantities into the blood?, the answer would be: False. Steroid hormones, given their excitatory function, are usually not stored and simply released in large quantities into the blood steam. Rather, they will be produced as the different systems, especially the reproductive system, requires them, and will be released when nerve signals initiate the process of release of them, especially during puberty, when they are most needed, and later on, during reproductive life. But these are not released in great quantities, nor are they stored. They are produced as needed.

2. Sperm is stored and matures in the epididymis, this is True. Sperm is usually produced by the testis, the male reproductive organs per se. However, these sperm are still in need of maturation, and this they achieve in the epididymis, especially in the head and body of this organ that sits atop the testis. As the sperm matures, they move towards the tail of the epididymis, and are stored there for use.

A portal system sends blood through two sets of capillaries.<br> a. True<br> b. False
nikklg [1K]

Answer:

a. True

Explanation:

A portal system begins with a set of capillaries and ends with a set of capillaries. Blood comes from one set of capillaries to a a larger blood vessel which drains into another set of capillaries and it is then sent to the heart.

A classic example of portal system is Hepatic portal system. Major function of this system is to deliver nutrients from digested food to liver so that it can be metabolized.  Small intestine absorbs nutrients from the digested food. These nutrients enter the blood in first capillary bed present in intestine. The deoxygenated blood flows through Hepatic portal vein to liver. Inside liver the blood passes through second capillary bed and nutrients are released in hepatocytes. These capillaries join the hepatic vein and the blood is sent to heart via inferior vena cava.

What might you be able to do to lower or raise the results for one of your vital sign measurements?
Deffense [45]

Answer: Vital signs are measurements of the body's most basic functions. The four main vital signs routinely monitored by medical professionals and health care providers include the following:

Body temperature

Pulse rate

Respiration rate (rate of breathing)

Blood pressure (Blood pressure is not considered a vital sign, but is often measured along with the vital signs.)

Vital signs are useful in detecting or monitoring medical problems. Vital signs can be measured in a medical setting, at home, at the site of a medical emergency, or elsewhere.
