3 of Mia's books are fairy tales.

9x1/3=3

or you can look at the reverse

3x3=9 so therefore 1/3 would have to be 3.

Last year, the number of students enrolled in the school was 672. If this number increases by 12% the next year, how many studen
ludmilkaskok [199]

Answer:

753 students

Step-by-step explanation:

Last year number of students =672

Increase in next year =12\%

\left( x\%\ of\ an\ amount\ A =\frac{x}{100}\times A \right)

12\% of 672=\frac{12\times672}{100}=80.64

So total increase in next year =80.64\approx81

Hence total number of students next year = number of students last year + increase

=672+81\\=753

The length of a rectangle is 4 inches more than 4 times the width. The perimeter is 138 inches. Find the length and the width.
MatroZZZ [7]
4 times 4 which is 8 so 8 times 4 which is 32 so divide that by 138 but divide the 138 first and you will get 17.25?

Use induction to prove that 2? ?? for any integer n>0 . Indicate type of induction used.
Hoochie [10]

Answer with explanation:

The given statement is which we have to prove by the principal of Mathematical Induction

    2^{n}>n

1.→For, n=1

L H S =2

R H S=1

2>1

L H S> R H S

So,the Statement is true for , n=1.

2.⇒Let the statement is true for, n=k.

      2^{k}>k

                   ---------------------------------------(1)

3⇒Now, we will prove that the mathematical statement is true for, n=k+1.

     \rightarrow 2^{k+1}>k+1\\\\L H S=\rightarrow 2^{k+1}=2^{k}\times 2\\\\\text{Using 1}\\\\2^{k}>k\\\\\text{Multiplying both sides by 2}\\\\2^{k+1}>2k\\\\As, 2 k=k+k,\text{Which will be always greater than }k+1.\\\\\rightarrow 2 k>k+1\\\\\rightarrow2^{k+1}>k+1

Hence it is true for, n=k+1.

So,we have proved the statement with the help of mathematical Induction, which is

      2^{k}>k
