It should be, “When my brother finally got back from serving overseas, my family was happy and proud.” When reading this out loud you would pause after overseas.

Well I think our bake-sale fundraiser would be better than the car-wash fundraiser because what kids want to come out on a nice day and wash cars we don't want kids to perform labor they don't want to perform. Let them bake food with there parents then atleast they can bond more and besides baked goods help feed the community and that makes the fundraiser money.
