First you distribute the -2 into the 5x-3 to get -10x+6. Then you add the 6 and 8 to get 14 then add then on both sides of the equation to get 10x=14 then divide each by 10 to get x=1.4. Hope this helps you solve questions like this one.

Graph the equation.
omeli [17]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

 see attached

Step-by-step explanation:

Sometimes the quadratic is easier to graph if written in vertex form.

 y = -x^2 -6x -3

 = -(x^2 +6x) -3

 = -(x^2 +6x +9) -3 +9

 = -(x +3)^2 +6

This is a parabola that opens downward, with its vertex at (-3, 6). Unlike the one shown in the graph already, its scale factor is 1, so it will appear narrower than the one given with the problem statement.

Write an example of an equation that’s represents exponential decay
seropon [69]

The equation for exponential decay is given as y = a(1 - r)^x.

Explanation:

The formula for original exponential decay is y = ab^x.

The growth rate (r) is determined as b = 1 + r.

The decay rate (r) is determined as b = 1 - r.

y = ab^x (Where b = 1 - r)

y = a(1-r)^x

a represents the initial value

r represents growth or decay rate

x represents the number of time intervals that have passed.

For example

The population of Home Town is 2016 was estimated to be 35,000 people with an annual rate of increase of 2.4%.

The equation for decay factor y = 35000(1 - 0.024)^x

y = 35000(0.976). (where x = 1)
