Protists are the rare and lucky sexual and asexual. so D. asexual always means same, like homologous. because there's no one else to mate with, so it takes on the exact same genetic material, but sexual reproduction does the opposite. say you grow up and marry and procreate with a tall man/woman who has never had glasses but you're a short girl/guy who wears glasses. So the kid could come out being short, tall, needing glasses, or not. it's all coded in the genes. I don't know if you knew that, but if you didn't there's a short little helper.
