Most crustaceans are aquatic, or reside in water habitats.

Instead of vertebrae, crustaceans have a hard outer shell called an exoskeleton. 

They also have segmented bodies, with appendages extending from each segment.

Here's a fun fact: crustaceans have single-chambered hearts and an open circulatory system.
