What famous Confederate general was one of Sherman's pallbearers?
vazorg [7]

Joseph Johnston

Explanation:

  • Sherman served under General Grant in 1862 and 1863 during the march that led to the fall of the Confederate stronghold in Viksburg on the Mississippi River.
  • In 1864, Sherman succeeded Grant as commander of Union forces on the western front. With his troops he conquered Atlanta, and this success was compounded by the re-election of President Abraham Lincoln.
  • A later Sherman march through Georgia and the Carolinas (North and South Carolina) further diminished the Confederate's ability to continue the fight.
  • He accepted the surrender of all Confederate armies in the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida in April 1865.

WHY WAS AGRICULTURE AN INNOVATION?!!
Debora [2.8K]

Agriculture was an innovation because simply put, it gave the foundation for civilization. Without it, it would NOT be so easy as it is today to get food.

There were many positive outcomes of this innovation. One positive outcome is that agriculture really helps reduce poverty levels. Another positive outcome is that it provides employment opportunities for many people in rural areas. Obviously another positive outcome is that agriculture provides food to people everywhere.

Although there are many positive outcomes of agriculture, there are just as many negative outcomes. One negative outcome of agriculture is that it contributes to habitat loss. To open areas for agriculture, woods, jungles, and so many other biomes are just demolished. Agriculture also uses a LOT of water, so much so that it comes to the point of being wasteful. Agriculture also contributes to soil erosion.

1. How do you see these primary sources as examples of race as a social construct? Using these primary documents and your readin
nevsk [136]

Answer: These primary sources show how race is viewed as a social construct because the dictionary definition explains black and white just how some people view them today. For example, everyone knows that when you are passing someone in a grocery store aisle, you pass them on the right side. Just like people have a set view of all races. They automatically assume we are different because of the color of our skin. The introduction of African slaves brought war to the Americas. It is a difficult topic to speak on because it seems like no matter what you say, someone will be offended. We can easily see how black slaves were treated back then if we dig into our history, and we can see how African Americans are treated today. The introduction of African slaves still has an impact on the issue of race in the Americas today. The Europeans created the idea that the white European race was superior to the African Americans. The Europeans viewed new world races as an opportunity for slaves and an opportunity to have farmhands. The repercussions of their choices are still affecting us today.
