How did Portugal gain an advantage in trading in comparison to other European nations?
mixer [17]

Answer:

The biggest changes were in rigging. At first they concentrated on lateen sails, then added a mix of square sails and lateen for deeper penetration into the South Atlantic, with further changes for the much longer route round the Cape. Knowledge of these techniques was protected by forbidding sales of ships to other countries. A third commercial advantage was Portugal's ability to absorb “new Christians” — Jewish merchants and scholars had played a significant role during Muslim rule.

Hope this helps! If so please mark brainliest and rate/heart to help my account if it did!!

Thomas Paine (1737-1809) is one of the founding figures of the United States due to his pamphlet Common Sense, and it's influence during the time of the American Revolution.

Answer 1.

 • Thomas Paine stated that England protected the 13 colonies for the sake of trade and dominion, he also points out that England would have protected any country for those same reasons because their only motive was interest and not attachment to the 13 colonies.

Answer 2.

 • Paine wrote on his pamphlet "Common Sense" that even if the colonies were related only through the Parent Country (England), the true Parent or Mother Country of America was Europe, because the New World was the asylum of civil and religious liberty from every part of Europe.

Answer 3.

 • He wrote on his pamphlet Common Sense that England brought prejudices to America, an Englishman was superior simply by the fact that they were born in England even though the majority of the population on the colonies were born in America. He also wrote that the government used tyrannical practices against the colonies.

Answer 4.

 • Thomas Paine thought it was a proper time to stop waiting four to five months for a petition to be reviewed and that it made no sense to travel three or four thousand miles with a petition. He thought Britain had no rightful power in America's justice.

Answer 5.

 • He thought that the 13 colonies would make more progress and would be wealthier if they were independent from England, because the enemies the colonies were facing and stopped them from trading were enemies of England and not theirs. If the colonies were independent they would be able to trade with countries like Spain and France.

Answer 6.

 • Thomas Paine told the American people in Common Sense that independence from Britain was possible. He said that if there had to be a king it would have to be the rule of law and not of a single man. He proposed a free republic where any payment would go to the law because "the law is king".

Explain why African Americans have not yet reached economic equality with white Americans.
Alekssandra [29.7K]

African American families have a fraction of the wealth of white families, that makes them more economically insecure and with far fewer opportunities for economic mobility. As considering increased education levels, African Americans have less wealth than whites.

Why there is still economic inequality between the African Americans?

Unfortunately, wealth in this country is unequally distributed by race, mainly between the white and black.

African Americans have less wealth than whites. Less wealth results into fewer opportunities for upward mobility and to build wealth or pass accumulated wealth down to future generations.

African Americans faced so many systematic challenges in cutting the wealth gap with whites.
