g(x) = 6x - 3

<u>Let g(x) = y:</u>

y = 6x - 3

<u>Make x the subject:</u>

y = 6x - 3

6x = y + 3

x = \dfrac{y + 3}{6}

<u>Replace y with x:</u>

g^{-1}(x) =  \dfrac{x + 3}{6}

<u>Find g⁻¹(9):</u>

g^{-1}(x) =  \cfrac{x + 3}{6}

g^{-1}(9) =  \cfrac{9 + 3}{6}

g^{-1}(9) = 2

Answer: 2

Hi there!

• g(x) = 6x - 3

Then,
if g(x) = y :-

y = 6x - 3

⇒6x = y + 3

⇒x = \dfrac{\text{y} + 3}{6}

According to th' question :-

g⁻¹(x) = \dfrac{\text{x} + 3}{6}

g⁻¹(9) = \dfrac{9 + 3}{6}

g⁻¹(9) = \dfrac{12}{6}

g⁻¹(9) = 2

Hence,
The required answer is g⁻¹(9) = 2

~ Hope it helps!

Average speed for a driving 330 miles in 5 1/2 hours
Nookie1986 [14]
Here are some examples of basic distance problems.

Example 1: “A man has to bicycle 30 miles. He will travel at 6 mph. How long will it take?”

    The distance is 30 miles and the rate is 6 mph. We will plug these values into the formula, like so.

    To solve it, we need to divide both sides by 6.

    This means it will take 5 hours.

Example 2: “A bug travels at a rate equal to 3 inches per hour. How far will it travel in 4 hours?”

    The rate is 3 inches/hour and the time is 4 hours. We will plug these values into the formula, like so.

    To solve it, we need to simply multiply the values.

    This means it will travel 12 inches.

Example 3: “An asteroid travels 300,000 miles in 4 hours. How fast was it traveling?”

    The distance is 300,000 miles and the time is 4 hours. We will plug these values into the formula, like so.

    To solve it, we need to divide both sides by 4.

    This means it was traveling at 75,000 mph.

Jillian is using integer tiles to add 7 + (negative 2). She uses the steps below. Step 1 7 positive tiles. Step 2 7 positive til
raketka [301]

Answer:

<h3>Step 4</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the expression 7+(-2)

Let 7 be 7 positive tiles since it is a positive number

Let -2 be 2 negative tiles being a negative number

7+(-2) = 7 positive tiles <em>and</em> 2 negative tiles

note that + * - will give minus sigh (-), the expression will become:

7+(-2) = 7-2

7-2 = 5

Hence the expression gives 5 positive tiles not 2 positive tiles according to Jillian calculations in step 4.

Hence Jillian made an error in step 4
