The Ecuadorian carnival is celebrated throughout the country with colorful parades (<u>desfiles coloridos</u> in spanish), floats filled with flowers and fruits, games, banquets and dances, with lots of food and drink.
It is a cultural event and is celebrated with water, carnival foam, talcum powder or flour to paint the face or any type of plant type paint. The best known place related to this celebration is the city of Guaranda, although in each part of the country the celebration is done adding its own cultural customs in accordance with the region.
Desfiles coloridos is colorfull parades.
