Answer:

The French and Indian War began in 1754 and ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1763. The war provided Great Britain enormous territorial gains in North America, but disputes over subsequent frontier policy and paying the war's expenses led to colonial discontent, and ultimately to the American Revolution. PLEASE HELP ME PLEASEEEE I WILL BE GRATEFUL AND LOVE YOU I WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST
Natalija [7]

Answer:

Here are four different paragraphs regarding Hernan Cortez.

Explanation:

When Cortés finally sailed for the coast of Yucatán on February 18, 1519, he had 11 ships, 508 soldiers, about 100 sailors, andâmost importantâ16 horses. In March 1519 he landed at Tabasco, where he stayed for a time in order to gain intelligence from the local Indians. He won them over and received presents from them, including 20 women, one of whom, Marina (âMalincheâ), became his mistress and interpreter and bore him a son, Martín. Cortés sailed to another spot on the southeastern Mexican coast and founded Veracruz, mainly to have himself elected captain general and chief justice by his soldiers as citizens, thus shaking off the authority of Velázquez. On the mainland Cortés did what no other expedition leader had done: he exercised and disciplined his army, welding it into a cohesive force. But the ultimate expression of his determination to deal with disaffection occurred when he sank his ships.

In 1504, Cortés left Spain to seek his fortune in New World. He traveled to the island of Santo Domingo, or Hispaniola. Settling in the new town of Azúa, Cortés served as a notary for several years. He joined an expedition of Cuba led by Diego Velázquez in 1511. There, Cortés worked in the civil government and served as the mayor of Santiago for a time.

After his victory over the Aztecs, Cortés faced challenges to his authority and position. He traveled to Honduras in 1524 to stop a rebellion against him in the area. Back in Mexico, Cortés found himself removed from power. He traveled to Spain to plead his case to the king, but he was not reappointed to his governorship.

When Cortes arrived at Tenochtitlan on November 8, 1519 he was welcomed by the Aztec Emperor Montezuma II. Although Montezuma did not trust Cortes, he thought that Cortes might be the god Quetzalcoatl in human form. Montezuma gave Cortes and his men gifts of gold. He thought that these gifts would keep Cortes from taking over the city, but they just made Cortes want more.

Please help me with this!!!!
Marrrta [24]
Sentence No 1. "The low note was a grunting, a rumble, the deep discordant growling of an ill-conditioned dog."
Assuming that nobody would want to be compared to an ill-conditioned dog, this sentence expresses mockery. The term "discordant" itself means inharmonious and off-key. Good music is universally known to be harmonious and pleasing to the ears.
Sentence No. 2 "Then suddenly the singer threw up his face, straightened his tubby figure, rose upon his tiptoes, and with a wagging head and scarlet cheeks emitted such a howl as the same dog might have given had his growl been checked by a kick from his master."
The first part of the sentence doesn't express too much mockery, just a frank description, but the second part of the sentence starting from "emitted such a howl" expresses mockery. In this description, the subject's voice is being compared to a pained animal. "A kick from his master" is known to be a universal punishment for dogs (unless the dog enjoys being kicked which is very, very, unlikely). Unless the goal of the subject is to sound like a punished animal, this is not a compliment. A good voice is pleasing to the ear while a howl, consequence of pain, will be loud, shrill, and abrupt.
Sentence No. 3 "Many a singer far better than this absurd fop had been driven amid execration and abuse from the platform."
The narrator in this sentence is being quite straightforward about his opinion on the subject by declaring him an "absurd fop". Absurd means unusual or inappropriate, so if something is called "absurd" it's in a negative way.

Hope this helps!

What bodies of water separated the civilizations in the Eastern and Western hemispheres before the age of Exploration
kvasek [131]

Answer:

indiana ocean

Explanation:

I think because Eastern Hemisphere refers to the area of the Earth east of the prime meridian and west of the International Date Line. This includes much of Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and the islands of Oceania. A map centered on the Eastern Hemisphere will have the Indian Ocean basin at the center.
