They changed from isolationism to interventionism because of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. This event brought war to them so they entered WW2.

World War 1 loses, the Great Depression and the bombing of Pearl Harbor are all things that persuaded the USA to switch to imperialism instead of isolation. Wars usually effected the US, so they decided to switch to imperialism.
