I know one way was that the country's two major political parties supported suffragists (women who fought for the right to vote) after the war. Women helped during the war, by becoming nurses and helping the troops. Others joined the workforce and took over jobs usually men did often working for the same wages as men. This lead to a change in public opinion on women's voting rights-and soon the 19th Amendment was passed and it allowed women to vote.
