The statement of Theadore Roosevelt’s party appealed to some republican and others who wanted to change and reform is <u>True</u>, because towards 1908 in the presidential elections, Theadore Roosevelt who was president since 1901 until 1909 decided to promote and assure that William Howard Taft <em>(his secretary of war)</em> would suceed him in the presidency, whereby Taft became in the president that year, but he started to approach to the republican most conservative part and to take related decisions, so it caused that Roosevelt decided to separate from Taft. Therefore years later, in the Republican convention of 1912 about the party's presidential nomination Taft defeated Roosevelt, <u>so after that, Theodore Roosevelt appealed to Frank Munsey, George Walbridge Perkins among others republicans who had a progressive perspective and people who wanted to change the politics and laws, to establish their own party named </u><u><em>The Progressive Party</em></u><u>,</u> with the main purpose to disband corrupt alliances between the tainted businesses and the corrupt politics, where their proposals were to put limitations on campaign fund contributions, a disminution in the tariff, the institution of a social assurance system, the implementation of an eight-hour workday and the authorization of the women's suffrage.
