It would surely be a compliment. Architecture works to better the lives of the people of its nation, architecture creates spaces for people to work, live in, spend free time in, etc...
Therefore, architects having noble aims is a very good and respectable thing.

It made the relations worse because many didn't want to leave their homeland and some even fought wars. Those who did go to reservations often died on the way there because the journey was dreadful.
