Then, you would count the how many numbers are behind the decimals in the multiplication, which is two. then from your answer (040) you would count over two decimal places and put the decimal there. so, in this case the answer would be 0.40 or 0.4. furthermore, the decimal place would not move at all because the numbers you are multiplying are both the same decimal places.
