Are there any "laws" that you have within your family? Pick one of these rules and write a quick story related to it. Think about writing in a voice that captures the way you might speak to a friend.

Answer:

My writing voice depends on what I am writing. If its a argumentative article, I'm very blunt and straight forward with my opinion. If I'm writing persuasive I have to be strong in my beliefs but nicer about my opinion. If I'm doing creative writing, I usually am really laid back especially when I write from a first person point of you, I can really feel that character coming alive through me. (DELETE THIS FIRST PART IF YOU DON'T NEED IT)

Explanation:

When I was little, my mama always taught me to be polite. She said it was one of the laws of the universe. That people were sensitive, and defensive and that little girls like me need to grow up knowing how to deal with these people, because they surround us. Some people will be rude, she said; they'll laugh in your face and complain and yell. But you always have to keep an smile on your face, because if you don't, you'll be one of those people. My mama also told me that if you are kind, the universe will reward you. She's always been into the idea of karma, and I always liked the idea of it too. It's a fair system. If you're rude and mean, you don't get very far in life, and if you do you're miserable because you're alone. If you are nice and kind, people will like you, and even when things are tough, you'll always have somebody there for you. And I think that's the best rule someone can have in there life; "Always be kind"

When you analyze the claim made by an author, what is your next step-after identifying the claim?
user100 [1]

Answer:

D). Find the supporting evidence the author provides.

Explanation:

While analyzing an argument, the immediate step that must be followed after the 'identification of the claim' would be 'to look for the supporting evidence provided by the author to substantiate the claim.' This would assist in knowing the credibility of the claim and if it is justified logically. Furthermore, the readers can understand whether the conclusions made regarding the claim is trustworthy and reliable. Thus, option D is the correct answer.
