The Palmer High School Junior Civitans club is helping to build a play area for the kindergarten classes as their service projec

t. Leah, the club president, needs to send club members to help build and paint the last set of swings but isn’t sure how many workers are needed. She knows that the length of time it takes to build and paint a set of swings is inversely proportional to the number of workers and that the previous week it took 6 workers 15 hours to build and paint a set of swings. How many workers should Maddie send to build and paint the last set if they only have nine hours available in which to work? Be sure to show each step leading to the solution. Write a brief statement explaining why the number of workers should be rounded to the nearest whole number and which rounding is correct--rounding the solution up or rounding the solution down.

Okay so first we need to know how much work each worker can do so we have two divide the 15 hours by 6 workers.

i decided to make to hours into half hours just to make it easier

in the end every worker can do 2 hours and 30 minutes of work

but if you add in 7 more workers it will take about 1.1 hour for each worker to complete the work thus getting it done in 7 hours

In the group of hundred students68 likes football 60 likes volleyball how many likes only football
diamong [38]

Answer:

18 students.

Step-by-step explanation:

Total amount is 100

Take 68 and add to 60 to get 128.

Subtract from both numbers until you get to 50.

68 needs 18 subtracted to get to 50.

60 needs 10 to get to 50.

18 plus 10 is 28, which is the excess.

Here, 18 people like only football.

How do you solve this problem? With work!!
Evgesh-ka [11]
You would put 9 times v because you are multiplying it to the 9 and you do not know what v is then you would divide it by 3 and get your answer so for example if you should have gotten 9 times v = 72 then 72 divided by 3 = 24 and 24 divided by 3 = 8

Tju [1.3M]

The time take for the cyclist to travel from Fort Worth to Fresno is 90 \ hours

Explanation:

It is given that the distance from Fort Worth to Fresno is 1,530 miles.

The average speed of the cyclist is 17 miles per hour.

The time travelled by the cyclist can be determined using the formula,

Distance=Speed \times Time

Substituting the value of distance and speed, we get,

1530=17\times Time

Dividing both sides by 17, we get,

90 =Time

Thus, the time take for the cyclist to travel from Fort Worth to Fresno is 90 \ hours
