Alright so, what it’s basically asking for is 70% of 25. This is the price of the shirt after you’ve accounted for the 30% discount

Then you would multiply 25 by .70, giving you $17.50

Hope this helps!

Okay so if the regular price of the shirt is 100% as $25 and you have a 30% discount you are still paying 70% (100-30=70) so 70% as a decimal is .70 and $25 x .70 is $17.50. Therefore the shirt is $17.50 after the discount.

Given:

A figure of a circle. KJ=6,KL=x-2,ML=4.

To find:

The length of KJ.

Solution:

From the given figure it is clear that the number 6 is marked between K and J it means the number 6 represents the distance between the points K and j.

Therefore, the length of KJ is 6 units.

Note: In the given question we need to find KL instead of KJ because KJ is already given.

According to the tangent secant theorem:

a^2=bc

Where,

 • a is the length of the tangent.
 • b is the length of the external segment of the secant.
 • c is the measure of the secant.

Using the tangent secant theorem, we get

ML^2=KL\times JL

(4)^2=(x-2)\times (6+x-2)

16=(x-2)\times (4+x)

16=4x+x^2-8-2x

On further simplification, we get

16=x^2+2x-8

0=x^2+2x-8-16

0=x^2+2x-24

Splitting the middle term, we get

x^2+6x-4x-24=0

x(x+6)-4(x+6)=0

(x+6)(x-4)=0

x=-6,4

For x=-6,

KJ=-6-2

KJ=-8, which is not possible because side cannot be negative.

For x=4,

KJ=4-2

KJ=2

Therefore, the measure of KL is 2 units.

Music Company A charges a $15 membership fee and $0.75 each to download a song. Music Company B charges $0.90 each to download a
Contact [7]

The number of songs that both companies will charge the same amount is 100. And to pay the least amount of money we need to choose Company B.

Linear Equation:

The mathematical expressions that we used to find unknown numbers are called Linear Equations. These can be formed by variables and constant terms according to given conditions. Here we use variables like x, y, z, etc to represent unknown variables.

Here we have,

Music company A charges a $ 15 membership fee and a $ 0.75 for each downloaded song

Music company B charges $ 0.90 for each downloaded song without the membership fee

Given question

a. For what number of songs will both companies charge the same amount?

Let for x songs both companies will charge the same amount

Cost to download x songs from Company A

=> 15 + 0.75x

Cost to download x songs from Company B

=> 0.90x

As we assumed both costs are the same

=> 15 + 0.75x = 0.90x

=> 0.90x - 0.75 = 15

=> 0.15x = 15

-> x = 100

Therefore,

The number of songs that both companies will charge the same amount is 100.

b) You anticipate that you will download 150 songs. Which company should you choose if you want to spend the least amount of money?

Cost of 150 that charges company A = 15 + 150(0.75)

= 15 + 150(0.75) = 15 + 112.5 = 127.5

Therefore,

Company A will charge $ 127.5 for 150 songs

Cost of 150 songs that charges company B = 150(0.90)

= $ 135

Company B will charge $ 135 for 150 songs

Therefore,

Company B will charge $ 135 for 150 songs

Thus,

To pay the least amount of money we need to choose Company B.

Therefore,

The number of songs that both companies will charge the same amount is 100. And to pay the least amount of money we need to choose Company B.
