Explain the relationship between Jim Crow Laws and the court case "Plessy Vs Ferguson"

History

Jim Crow Laws enforced segregation between black and white people. The court case "Plessy Vs Ferguson" was trying to please people by enforcing the "separate but equal" law. Basically, they wanted to make the two races separate, but they thought it would be fine as long as both places were the same in quality and quantity.

To sum it up, Jim Crow Laws were to separate the two, but black people were given schools that weren't as good, trashy bathrooms, etc. It was also made to make sure that black people could not go some places on certain days, or at all. The "Plessy vs Ferguson" case was to try to make it better by separating the races, but having both bathrooms the same and both schools the same so none is better than the other.

I hope I helped.

What were key provisions of the Voting Rights Act of 1965?
Leya [2.2K]

Answer:

The right answer is  A) Literacy tests were banned and federal enforcement powers strengthened.

Explanation:

The Voting Rights Act of 1965 intended to eliminate barriers erected in southern states that impeded African-Americans from voting, a violation of the 15th Amendment. One common obstacle used to block black people was to make them pass literacy tests. This population had lived for centuries in opression, poverty and lack of education opportunities. That was a repugnant racist trick to make ineffective the rights of a good part of American society.

What is success of failure of education closely tied to
erastovalidia [21]
I think the best answer I have for you would be this;

Just because you are educated, it does not mean you are successful. Quite the opposite actually.  One who knows how to read a doesn't read, is just as successful as one who cannot read.  The smarter you become, the more you begin to realize that, there is always more to learn.  Always be humble and teachable.
