Answer:

As they relax after dinner on Christmas Eve, the members of a family and their guests turn to telling ghost stories. These ghoulish accounts range from the melancholy to the macabre, and get increasingly bizarre as the ghosts leap out of the tales and make an appearance in the family's home. Fact and fiction, the real and unreal collide, until the reader is not sure who is haunting whom.

A masterful work of comic horror, Jerome K. Jerome's After-Supper Ghost Stories is a witty look at why Christmas Eve is so perfect for ghost stories and why ghosts love the Yuletide season.

How does Bierce describe Farquhar’s supposed escape?
Anarel [89]
As Bierce chooses to write the third section of the story through Farquhar's perspective, the story begins to reveal the use of figurative language that the previous two sections didn't include. In particular, Bierce makes use of imagery. He gives a vivid description of Farquhar's supposed escape and the sights and sounds he sees and hears. He describes nature in great detail; for example, the veins as well as the sounds of tiny insects.

Very briefly, give one example of how Penelope shows fidelity to Odysseus and one example of how she shows infidelity.
Otrada [13]
Penelope showed fidelity to Odysseus through simply not entertaining any other man at the time Odysseus was away, as well as managing the household devoutly and raising their son to be emulate or follow his father's legacy.

An example of how she showed infidelity was when she was 'teasing' the suitors she had and actually considered the thought of her being a widow. But that's as close as she could get.
