Hypothalamus is the part of the brain which plays very important roles in the human body which includes the production of hormones, sexual control and controlling appetite.

The lateral hypothalamus is involved in producing action potential which stimulates eating whereas ventromedial hypothalamus produces impulses which reduce the hunger.
