Answer:

x^2-4x + (7 /(x-1) )

Step-by-step explanation:

First, we need to write the polynomial in descending order

Then, grab the term with the highest  power from the polynomial and divide it by the term with highest power from the polynomial located at the other side of the division symbol (this polynomial would be x-1)

The result (x^3 / x) = x^2

This term will be part of the solution, and will be use to start the process of division.

This process start with the previous obtained term (x^2), which will be multiplied by the polynomial from the other side of the division symbol (x-1).

The result another is another polynomial

This new polynomial will be multiply by negative 1

The new polynomial is then added to the poly ((X^3-5x^2+4x+7)

The result will constitute a new poly, that will be use as the remaining of the division.

Since, our reamining differs from zero, and we still have member to simplify, we repeat the step 1 using the remaining as the new poly that needs to by divided by (x-1).

The attached picture explains the whole procedure.

Brrunno [24]

Answer:

32 m^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Quite easy. The altitude of the triangle is 8m. The base of the triangle is 2 + 6. The base is 8 meters and the height of the triangle is 8 meters. The area ofa triangle is base * height divded by 2.

(8 * 8)/2 = 32 sqaure meters

(b) The globe has a radius of 28.5 cm. Find the surface area of the globe. Round your answer to two decimal places. Use:
damaskus [11]

Answer:

\boxed {\boxed {\sf  10,207.03 \ cm^2}}

Step-by-step explanation:

Surface area is the total area of the surface of an object. A globe is a sphere and the formula for calculating a sphere's surface area is:

SA= 4 \pi r^2

The radius (r) of the globe is 28.5 centimeters. Substitute this value into the formula.

  • r= 28.5 cm

SA= 4 \pi ( 28.5 \ cm)^2

Solve the exponent. Multiply the number by itself.

  • (28.5 cm)²= 28.5 cm * 28.5 cm = 812.25 cm²

SA= 4 \pi (812.25 \ cm^2)

Multiply 4, pi and 812.25 centimeters together.

SA= 12.56637061  (812.25 \ cm^2)

SA= 10207.03453 \ cm^2

Round to two decimal place or the hundredth place. The 4 in the thousandth place to the right (10207.03453) tells us to leave the 3 in the hundredth place (10207.0<u>3</u>453).

SA \approx 10207.03 \ cm^2

The surface area of the globe is approximately <u>10,207.03 centimeters squared.</u>

Choose the expression that represents a quadratic expression.
Dima020 [189]

Answer:

3) 2x^{2} + 3x - 1

Step-by-step explanation:

A quadratic expression is an expression involving a squared term

It can be written as y = ax^{2} + bx + c, where a ≠ 0

// note that here b and c can be equal to 0

1) 6x^{4} - 5x^{3}  + 3x^{2}  - 7x - 8 is simply incorrect because you can't write in the previously mentioned form. It is a quartic function, since the unknown variable x in forth degree. It can be written as y = ax^{4} +bx^{3} +cx^{2} + dx + e, where a before x^{4} ≠ 0

2) 5x^{3}  + 3x^{2}  - 7x - 8 is simply incorrect because you can't write in the previously mentioned form. It is a cubic function, since the unknown variable x in third degree.

3) 2x^{2} + 3x - 1 is correct

4) 3x - 1 is incorrect because there is no squared term. You could also say that here a = 0 and write it as y = 0 * x^{2}  + 3x - 1. It is also called a linear function because if you'd draw a graph, it would be a line
