What is the equation of a line that is perpendicular to -x+2y=4 and passes through the point (-2,1)?

-x + 2y = 4
2y = x + 4
y = 1/2x + 2.....slope here is 1/2. A perpendicular line will have a negative reciprocal slope. All that means is " flip " the slope and change the sign. So the slope we need is -2 (see how I flipped the slope and changed the sign)

y = mx + b
slope(m) = -2
(-2,1)...x = -2 and y = 1
now we sub and solve for b, the y int
1 = -2(-2) + b
1 = 4 + b
1 - 4 = b
-3 = b

so ur perpendicular line is : y = -2x - 3

To estimate the average salary among people in a certain district, a marketing team obtains a simple random sample of 100 people
bogdanovich [222]

Answer:

The interpretation is that we are 90% sure that the true average salary of the district is in this interval.

Step-by-step explanation:

x% confidence interval:

A confidence interval is built from a sample, has bounds a and b, and has a confidence level of x%. It means that we are x% confident that the population mean is between a and b.

In this question:

The 90% confidence interval for the average salary of the district is  [41500,49750].

This means that we are 90% sure that the true average salary of the district is in this interval.

What is the sign of the product (–5)(–3)(–8)(–6)? Positive, because the products (–5)(–3) and (–8)(–6) are negative, and the pro
chubhunter [2.5K]

Answer:

The product (–5)(–3)(–8)(–6) should be Positive.

Step-by-step explanation:

The product of 2 negative numbers equal a positive product.

N * N = P

-5*-3=15

-8*-6=48

The product of 2 positive numbers is positive.

P * P = P

15 * 48 = 720

Your answer should be: Positive because the products (–5)(–3) and (–8)(–6) are positive, and the product of two positive numbers is positive.
