Answer:

(a) between 300 grams and 350 grams  (b) 95%  (c) 5%  (d) 83.85%

Step-by-step explanation:

We have that \mu = 325 grams and \sigma = 25 grams. Let's compute the following figures to use the empirical rule

\mu + \sigma  = 325 + 25    = 350

\mu + 2\sigma = 325 + 2(25) = 375

\mu + 3\sigma = 325 + 3(25) = 400

\mu - \sigma  = 325 - 25    = 300

\mu - 2\sigma = 325 - 2(25) = 275

\mu - 3\sigma = 325 - 3(25) = 250

using the image below that was made it with help of the empirical rule we find the next figures

(a) About 68% of organs will be between 300 grams and 350 grams

(b) 95% of organs weights between 275 grams and 375 grams

(c) 5% of organs weights less than 275 grams or more than 375 grams

(d) 83.85% of organs weights between 300 grams and 400 grams

What value of s makes the equation true?
azamat

Answer:

-17 =s

Step-by-step explanation:

-8s +4 = -7s +21

Add 8s to each side

-8s+8s +4 = -7s+8s +21

4 = s+21

Subtract 21 from each side

4-21 = s+21-21

-17 =s

The equation for a circle is x^2 - 8x + y^2 -8 =0. what is the equation of the circle in standard form?
yKpoI14uk [10]
You have to complete the square on this to get it into standard form of a circle.  Move the 8 over to the other side because that's part of the radius.  Group together the x terms, take half the linear term which is 8, square it and add it in to both sides.  Half of 8 is 4, 4 squared is 16, so add in 16 to both sides.  I'll show you in a sec.  You don't need to do anything to the y squared term.  This just means that the center of the circle does not move up or down, only side to side, right or left.  Here's your completing the square before we simplify it down to its perfect square binomial. ( x^{2} -8x+16)+ y^{2} =8+16.  Now break down the parenthesis into the perfect square binomial and do the addition of the right: (x-4) ^{2} + y^{2}=24.  This is the standard form of a circle that has a center of (4, 0) and a radius of \sqrt{24}
