Another invention of the Tang was the gunpowder, initially used for multiple purposes, and later finding its place in the warfare. The Song Dynasty invented the banknotes, thus it was the first government in the world to do so. That revolutionized the trade and usage of money in the Chinese society, and later in the world as well.
