What idea is conveyed through this comparison of humans to lyres

English
1 answer:
deff fn [24]3 years ago

Like a lyre with strings that always make new sounds, humans respond uniquely to different experiences.

In the stanza it says that the strings of the lyres "Give various response to each varying blast". The use of the words various and varying show that the strings are always making a different sound. This idea tha things are always different is carried into the next two lines when it states that "no second motion brings/One mood or modulation like the last." This states that the sounds are not the same from one stroke to the next.  This furthers the idea that things are different. This relates back to humans in saying that humans are all different and respond differently.

Edgar Allan Poe's narrator in "The Tell-Tale Heart" describes in detail the circumstances surrounding his murder of an old man.
NemiM [27]
Hello! I would say the narrator is insane because he can still hear the old man’s heart thumping from underneath the floorboards even after he killed him. His guilt gets the better of him and he turns himself in to the cops. I don’t have any evidence sense I don’t have the story on me, but use something from the story along the lines where he “hears” the thumping of his heart as evidence.

A. He reflects back and describes his initial optimism of the war. Everyone initially feels that optimism going into a battle. The idea of victory is something easy to see. But it gives the idea that possibly it may not turn out exactly as he hopes in the final sentence.
