In regard to regulating companies, Roosevelt wanted them to serve the public in the best way possible.

<u>Theodore Roosevelt</u>, who was the U.S. president from 1901 to 1909,<u> always ruled the country with the great aspiration of creating a more equal and fair society</u>. He believed that equality could only be achieved if the government offered the same economic possibilities to all citizens. For that reason,<u> he changed the government's relationship to big businesses by regulating them so that they could not affect the public in a negative way</u>.
