It had a strong and stable government that led a strong fleet of ships and a developed army. This enabled it to colonize everyone easily since they often had guns and canons and things like that against people who barely had uniforms or still fought with bows and arrows and swords.

How did even northern states limit the freedoms of blacks even as they decried the expansion of slavery?
Dmitriy789 [7]

Answer: Passing laws that limited the movement and freedom of blacks

Explanation:

Even though the whites in the Northern territories viewed slavery as a moral wrong and a stain on the moral fibre of the United States, they did not believe that Black people should be entitled to the same rights as them.

To keep blacks at a certain social level and to limit the amount of blacks in their territories, some states passed laws that restricted the movements of blacks.

States like California and Kansas did it subtly while states like Iowa, Illinois and Indiana banned blacks entirely from their states.

What was the name of the 1899 policy established by secretary of state john hay with regard to china?
a_sh-v [17]
This policy created by John Hay was known as the Open Door Policy.

The goal of this policy would be to allow European countries and America to trade with China on an equal basis. John Hay wanted to ensure that no one country had a monopoly on the trade with China during the early 20th century. Along with this, he felt that the Open Door policy would result in less fights/confrontation between the countries involved in this trade.
