Answer:

Nucleus

Explanation:

Humans are eukaryotic organisms. Their cells have a well-defined nucleus in which the genetic material is present in the form of chromosomes. Chromosomes have genes arranged in a linear manner. Genes represent the stretch of DNA that code for a specific protein. Being diploid organisms, humans have two complete sets of chromosomes. Therefore, each chromosome is present in pairs. These pairs are called homologous chromosomes. One chromosome of a pair comes from an egg cell and is called the maternal chromosome. The other chromosome is contributed by sperm and is called a paternal chromosome.

The nucleus has a system of _____ embedded within its outer membrane which allows communication between the nucleus interior and
Bumek [7]

Answer:

pores

Explanation:

The nucleus consists of "nuclear pores" on its outer membrane. Each of these are surrounded by <em>nuclear pore complex.</em> It allows the pore to <u>regulate the movement of molecules between the nucleus and the cytoplasm.</u> It allows small particles to pass through such as ribosomal proteins. It prevents most large particles<em> (except for histone)</em> from passing through; thus, <u>it is selective in nature</u>. This function of the pores clearly shows that <em>it allows communication to occur between the nucleus interior and the cytoplasm.</em>

what is the meaning of phosphoryl transfer potential and what does it mean to have a high or low phosphoryl transfer potential?
makvit [3.9K]

Phosphoryl-transfer potential is the ability of an organic molecule to transfer its terminal phosphoryl group to water which is an acceptor molecule. It is the “standard free energy of hydrolysis”.

Explanation:

This potential plays a key role during cellular energy transformation by energy coupling during ATP hydrolysis.

A compound with a high phosphoryl-transfer potential has the increased ability to couple the carbon oxidation with ATP synthesis and can accelerate cellular energy transformation.

A compound with a high phosphoryl-transfer potential can readily donate its terminal phosphate group; whereas, a compound with a low has a lesser ability to donate its phosphate group.

ATP molecules have a high phosphoryl transfer potential due to its structure, resonance stabilization, high entropy, electrostatic repulsion and stabilization by hydration. Compounds like creatine phosphate, phosphoenolpyruvate also have high phosphoryl-transfer potential.

Why do we call the clavicle as the beauty bone?
NARA [144]
The clavicle or the collar bones are the only long bones in the body that lie horizontally. Calling the clavicle as the beauty bone is basedon the reason that it helps frame the face and round out the imperfection of your jaw line.
