Dehydration is an elimination reaction of an alcohol: The elimination reaction involves the loss of an OH from one carbon and an H from an adjacent carbon. Overall, this amounts to the elimination of a molecule of water, resulting in a pi-bond formation of an alkene or alkyne. The loss of water from a molecule is called dehydration. In many cases alcohol dehydration require an acid catalyst and heat. Phosphoric acid (H3PO4) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4) are the most commonly used acid catalysts. The most important steps that maximize the product formation is heating of Cyclohexanol and the Phosphoric Acid

Computech Corporation is expanding rapidly and currently needs to retain all of its earnings; hence, it does not pay dividends.
Arturiano [62]

Answer: $8.81

Explanation:

To solve this, add the present values of the dividends from years 3, 4 and 5 and then add the present value of the terminal value of the stock at year 5.

Year 3 dividend = $0.50

Year 4 dividend = 0.50 * (1 + 49%) = $0.745

Year 5 dividend = 0.745 * 1.49 = $1.11005

= Dividend in year 3 / (1 + required rate of return)³ + Dividend in year 4 / (1 + required rate of return)⁴ + Dividend in year 5 / (1 + required rate of return)⁵ +   (Dividend in year 5 * (1 + growth rate) / ( required rate of return - growth rate ) ) / (1 + required rate of return)⁵

= 0.5 / 1.16³ + 0.745/1.16⁴ + 1.11005/1.16⁵ + ( 1.11005 / (16% - 9%)) / 1.16⁵

= $8.81

Strategic PlanningImagine that IBM has decided to diversify into the telecommunications business to provide online cloud-computi
rosijanka [135]

Answer:

IBM could either diversify by the strategy of market penetration, which consists in increasing the market share in a particular sector (in this case, cloud computing) through more marketing efforts.

Or it could integrate horizontally, acquiring a possible competitor that is more advanced in the cloud-computing business. Or even a start-up with good prospects, because with the amount of capital that IBM has, it could more easily expand the start-up operation as a new internal business division.

Fill in the blank!! Many products, such as golf clubs, are made with graphite-epoxy resins because it's strong and lightweight.
TEA [102]
I think the answer is E. both supply and demand would increase.
I think this because the decrease in making would lower the price of the golf clubs. Therefore making people more likely to buy (demand increasing). The supply would also increase also because with a higher demand, the people buying the golf clubs would cause their supply of golf clubs to increase.
