Answer:

Habituation.

Explanation:

Habituation refers to the psychological learning mechanism where the reaction to a stimulus is reduced after repeated exposure to it. This definition suggests that because of repeated exposure to it, an organism can tend to ignore a stimulus. It happens in everyday life but we still do not realize it to a large extent. As per the question,  Libby doesn’t feel the pencil behind her ear as she left it there and forgot about it is an example of habituation.

Discuss how society encourages conformity and uses social control to discourage deviance? Give examples
Lynna [10]
*not a full formal answer just the gist*

Society encourages conformity by setting trends and standards that if you don't meet them you are outcast and looked down upon. Take for example sexuality not long ago if you weren't heterosexual you were seen as less and encouraged to change to fit in. Another example is school. If you don't do things popular kids do or pressure you to do you are "punished" one way or another.. Also take slavery for example. If the slaves didn't conform and follow directions perfectly and correctly when they were told they were beaten. Slaves were beaten in to submission. Slavery is a good example to use because everybody knows about slavery.
