2x - 83 = 35 --- Original Equation
2x = 35 + 83 --- Add 83 to the other side
2x = 118
X = 118 / 2 --- Divide two from both sides to separate it from X
X = 59 --- Your Simplified Answer!

Remember when you add or subtract a numeral across the = , it changes signs! (Ex. - changes to a +)
